Return To Cuba
Director David Fábrega made this film over a period of three years, the time it took for Barbara to build the house of her dreams. Return to Cuba is a chronicle of life in Cuba after Fidel Castro, at the time of Raúl Castro's liberal reforms and reconciliation with the United States of America.
Scoring Session
Fábrega wanted the score to extend beyond the boundaries of Cuban music to draw inspiration from Latin American rhythms. Javier Asencio gathered a group of talented Montreal-based musicians to record charangos, quenas, violins, and a wide range of percussion instruments such as zurdos, timbales, congas, and cajones, resulting in a rich contemporary score of great sonic depth.
