Shalom Montréal

This exhibition highlights the contributions of Jewish communities to the development and liveliness of Montréal in the twentieth century, showcasing achievements that have been and remain significant for all Montrealers in the fields of architecture, heritage protection, science and health, human rights, commerce, and arts and culture.

Shalom is a word that symbolizes openness and friendship. The history of the Jewish communities in Montréal reflects the strength of their traditions and their centuries-old roots. Born of a fertile cultural and intellectual breeding ground, their achievements speak to a desire
for collaboration and mutual aid.
